With such a start, 2007 promises to become a strong one for TYPO3. Soon the second issue of the TYPO3 Developer Days will take place, CeBIT will have a host of TYPO3 presentations and, last but not least, the TYPO3 Association has its second annual general assembly, this time in Rüschlikon near Zurich. The 5.0 development team is working on ground breaking technology and the 4.x branch will concentrate on keeping TYPO3 at the top of the CMS game with 4.1 and consecutive releases throughout the year.

Also noteworthy is the recognition that TYPO3 has received through eContent Magazine, which has published its yearly list of top 100 IT companies and projects that lead the industry in December 2006. Among the products listed is TYPO3 in the Content Management Category.

TYPO3 Developer Days T3DD07

The event will take place from April 26th to 29th, 2007, in Dietikon, Switzerland (near Zurich). Watch the news on typo3.org for the start of the registration.

T3BOARD07

After months of waiting, 128 TYPO3 enthusiasts met in the French Alps in one of the highest European ski resorts to make the most of the little snow the Alps got this year. A week of almost Caribbean weather, very cosy apartments and many new faces have made it a rememberable week and have set the standard in many respects, which the event committee now tries to improve upon for 2008.

R&D Committee

Release Candidate 4.1

Ingmar Schlecht has taken the role of release manager for this release. The current release candidate is now out and available from typo3.org. The version is feature-frozen and only changes to fix bugs are applied from now on. Please help to speed up the release of the final version by heavy beta testing and bug reporting. Version 5.0

At T3BOARD07 Robert Lemke and Karsten Dambekalns took the stage to show the latest concepts and advances on 5.0 as well as their roadmap for the new architecture which aims at serving a new paradigm of content management to integrators and end users. To create first deliverables, the 5.0 Development Team started with the development of foundation classes of the 5.0 version in December 2006, after an initial planning and design phase.

The newly created core package is the cornerstone of the new architecture and combines functions for component and package management, while also providing support for Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP), an important feature of today's enterprise application frameworks. already presented at T3BOARD07 and is now available for download from the 5.0 Subversion repository.

The 5.0 development team, which currently consists of five members, aims to present the first milestone of the development roadmap at this year's TYPO3 Conference in Karlsruhe. typo3.org - the Hub

As the most important project for fostering the further development of TYPO3, a new effort to build a team and spark a common vision of a next-generation infrastructure for typo3.org as the unrivaled community and development hub is made by Kasper Skårhøj and Daniel Hinderink. General Assembly

The second general assembly (GA) of the TYPO3 association takes place on March 9th 2007 at the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institut in Rüschlikon/Zürich. Registration for the event has already been held. Volunteers for creating a web cast can contact Dominic Brander: dominic@typo3.org

Currently the association has roughly 230 members. Half of them are companies.
